You can't beat FREE

For some reason, I've had a hard time lately in getting the photos
of my thrifted items onto the computer.
Therefore, I have quite a bit of things to catch up on...
however, I thought it'd be fun to dedicate this post solely
to things that I've gotten free in the past few days.
(OK, that and I was too tired to edit all those photos right now.)

I'm never above digging into the freebie box at yard and estate sales...
I'm sure I must embarrass my hubby a little, lol!
So of course that makes it a teeny bit more fun.
Usually I don't find much amidst the hangers and other cast offs
that no one wants--maybe the occasional cheap toy to amuse my kids.

Today there was a city wide sale in the next town up, though,
and I found a lot of freebies I was happy to take home:

(Here are some of my favorites)

(My sweet hubby has black hair and collects
cast iron skillets. So this is obviously him.)

(Hopefully some OxyClean will clean it up..)

(To be spray-painted and used to display earrings. But what color?)

(I'm going to use it as a lunch/book bag!)

(What can I say, I like garishly fluorescent pink!)

(So I can drink wine while wearing the nightie, of course ;)

(LOVE the wearthering on it!)

That's it!
Have you ever found anything really awesome in the freebie box?
Or even if it was nothing really, something that just made you happy?

Oh, "honey"!!! As soon as I saw that first "honey" Val, I recognized them! Ok ... I was born in 1963. Back in the late 60s-early 70s,you wrote out Vals like these (your mom bought them all together in a box at someplace like Grant's Discount)!!! WOW!!! You know, I'm really glad you posted them !

Those were all FREE!! Blows my mind!!
Great, great stuff, Marty!

I think you should paint those frames something bright, like turquoise or red....or the blue of your little prop table :)

Wow I can't believe someone was getting rid of all these vintage goodies for FREE! I rarely see "free boxes" in Chicago but I have scored vintage dishes and books for free before.

I love the vintage patterns and the valentines! I'd spraypaint the frames aqua but that's my favorite color so I'm biased (maybe white?).

I admit...I'm a bit jealous! ;) My favorites are the pillowcases and the tea towel.
